General Program Goals:

To provide postgraduate training in neonatology-perinatal medicine for Board Certified or Board Eligible pediatricians committed to a career in neonatology. Although preference is given to those individuals preparing for academic careers, highly qualified individuals with other career goals are accepted. Progress towards subspecialty certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine is expected by engaging in the clinical and research programs provided by the division.

Specific Program Goals:

Focus on background and experience in clinical skills, teaching competence, research methods, and administrative aspects of newborn intensive care tailored to meet the individual goals of each trainee.

Note to Foreign Medical Graduates: It is mandatory to have a California medical license to be accepted for
Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship training. In order to qualify for a California medical license you must have
completed two years of ACGME approved postgraduate training in any state in the US.
